Kevin Miller's most recent full-time occupation within the A/V industry was as the Editorial Director for Video at the now defunct on line consumer electronics giant etown.com. Kevin designed and had constructed two state-of-the-art Audio/Video test facilities for the company. One was a dedicated home theater and the other was devoted solely to audio equipment evaluations. He established calibration as a necessary part of the TV review process and made sure that all freelance TV reviewers either got the ISF training and a color analyzer to do the job themselves, or at least received the support of a qualified ISF technician.

Current

Ultimate A/V Guide: For many years Kevin Miller has been supporting Michael Fremer of Ultimate A/V by calibrating all the TVs that he reviews. Look for comments by Michael on the gray scale performance of the sets he reviews in the magazine's Measurements sidebar.

CNET: Kevin had been writing video hardware reviews for CNET, a large online publication, for the past six years. As a Technical Consultant, he also has contributed to the development of the company’s television review process, as well as contributing his consulting expertise to the editorial staff on a variety of technical articles.

Audio Video Revolution: For the past year, Kevin has been writing Video Product Reviews for A/V Revolution, a major online publication based in California.

Past

The Perfect Vision: Kevin was the magazine Managing Editor starting in 1990, and later publisher and CEO of the company. Kevin and Joe Kane, TPV Technical Director at the time, established calibration as part of the TPV reviewing process, making TPV the first video magazine to incorporate this practice. Today, all Home Theater publications, whether print or Web based, use calibration as part of the evaluation process in television reviews. Kevin was a Contributing Editor for TPV until the middle of 2006.

Home Theater Magazine: For several years, Kevin wrote a regular Column for Home Theater that dealt with helping people solve problems mainly with setting up home theaters in problematic rooms. Kevin also wrote regular video hardware reviews mainly of DVD players, HDTVs, PVRs (Personal Video Recorders), etc.

Video Magazine: Kevin was the principle TV reviewer and a Senior Contributing Editor to Video magazine from 1994 through 1997. Along with at least one TV review per issue, Kevin also established gray scale calibration as an integral part of the TV reviewing process, which has since been continued by Hachette's Sound & Vision after they purchased Video and rolled it into S&V. As such he supported video with his monitor calibration service on every TV reviewed for the magazine.
