The picture is fantastic! You received the highest praise from my wife when she first saw the television after your calibration. Her words went something like "I can't believe that picture! It's amazing!" This is the same woman who only hours earlier thought I was nuts to spend money on getting it calibrated!

As you pointed out the television was producing about 12,500 Kelvin's before the calibration. After your calibration the set was producing about 6,500 Kelvin's or "perfect" in the high def. picture world. As it turns out those "factory settings" were truly hurting our eyes. Friday Night Movies at home became a serious strain on our eyes by the time the movie finished.

Hi Kevin,

I just wanted to let you know how happy I am with the ISF calibration you did on my system.

The colors just look right all the time now (or almost all the time, some TV networks have no regard for fidelity but we can't do much about that), the brightness is a good balance between the night and day viewing and the contrast is greatly improved. I have no doubt that the best choice for a cost effective home theater TV system was a good 1080p display, a VP50 to handle all the scaling/de-interlacing and an ISF calibration of the rear-projection set. It is even better than I dared hope when I finally, after years of what my wife calls "I'm an engineer and I must obsess over this to make the optimum choice", I thought I'd found a path to an excellent video system for both HD and SD material.

The only thing I'd change (but can't since it doesn't exist right now) would be to find a network media player that didn't scale by default to 4:4:4 so the VP50 could handle all of the decoding/signal processing.....maybe when the next generation sigma 8634 based chips arrive late this year).

Hello Kevin,

Just wanted to send a brief thank you note, have been living with the improvements you made in our TV set after calibration, for what? almost 2 months now, and the difference is amazing... been watching reference DVD's like the new restored James Bond movies, (From Russia With Love's Gypsy camp looks like the Lord of the rings in Technicolor IB, the color is so sweet) and for the most part, forgetting the TV and just enjoying the movies...will keep in mind your offer of buying advice if we ever buy a new TV... but, considering how happy we are with our ancient Sony CRT now, it won't be in a big hurry!

It was a pleasure to meet with you earlier today. I know I told you that I saw a big difference in the picture and after you left I played several DVDs and boy, I didn't know what I was missing. Not to mention Dish Network HD channels ... the NCAA games, the Discovery HD etc has never looked this stunning on any set. Thanks so much for the excellent work and also for driving out here! Just thought I drop you a note to tell you how great the picture is now after your calibration of my Hitachi RPT I cannot believe how vivid and accurate the colors are. The picture is now as good or better then any I have seen on any of the more expensive HDTV's in Circuit City. The cost was well worth it, your expertise will be recommended. I think it's worth stating that your work has made a believer out of me, and I'll never buy another set without having it properly calibrated. And for anyone who is unsure as I was about having this done, all I can say is "go for it, you won't be disappointed." Even "Video Essentials" can only get the average guy so far. True ISF calibration takes picture quality to the next level. That's no BS.

I just wanted to thank you for doing such a wonderful job on optimizing my Toshiba 50HX81. The improvements from your calibration on the TV are just remarkable. The S-Video input detail and resolution has improved greatly, and the color balance and saturation is beautiful. I now see colors through S-Video like I had previously only seen via the component video input. The DVD component video input went from looking good to excellent. Again detail and color balance is just awesome!!!!!! Thanks again for all your hard work and effort. Now I can appreciate beautiful images as they were meant to be seen.

Today I made the best investment to date with regards to my home theater. I had my set calibrated by a man named Kevin Miller. He is a founding member of the ISF and did an amazing job of making my TV perform in ways I never thought possible, and I was happy with my set just 3 hours ago. Now I can't take my eyes off it. That is not the main reason for my post though I feel I had to give him a plug (www.isftv.com). The reason I am writing this is because this guy seems to be a heavy hitter in our field and also a large proponent of WOW TV and completely against copy protection. By going to his web site you can see >all of the number of things he is involved with. He writes for Home Theater Magazine and is going to Japan tomorrow with Hitachi to see there plasma display factory. I asked him if he is a member of our group and he said he was aware of it but not a member. I am e-mailing him a link to our site as soon as I am done with this post so he can join us. I feel he will be a great addition to our site in that any question I fired at him he had all the answers. Also, he was discussing his involvement with executives of some pretty heavy hitting company's. I just thought you guy's would be interested.

Well, I can now add to the Chorus: Kevin Miller calibrated my Toshiba 42H81, and it made a HUGE difference. Focus, convergence and grayscale are now dead on. And I had No IDEA how truly horrible they were before. Even my girlfriend was blown away. She said "I can't believe that we are watching something that looks this good in your apartment."
The biggest difference for me was DVDs. They now look MUCH closer to HD. And cable looks better too--as much as it can, I suppose. Thanks Kevin!

I just wanted to thank you again for making my TV look as good as it can. It really does shine now. My wife and I had a chance to watch two DVD's and one HD film and in all three cases we were blown away by how much sharper the image has become and also by the level of detail in the blacks. My parents are also quite happy and even my mother noted the absence of red push.

Thanks for the calibration. The picture looks great (well, better than great...how about outstanding!). I'm watching the new Zeppelin DVD right now. It's nothing short of a religious experience. The video and sound are amazing and the DCDI eliminates those annoying artifacts across the guitar strings. And the black levels look really good.

After watching the post-calibration images for a while now, I have to say that the difference in picture quality is astonishing. Even the worst signal input, regular cable, is now watchable. Movies and hi-def are unbelievable. Thanks for the great work.

I just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you. The picture on my 50" LG plasma after you calibrated is awesome! The difference (PQ) is so noticeable from pre-calibration. The colors are much more vivid and the picture so sharp it stands out like 3D. I was watching King Kong last night in HD and the picture was just unbelievable.
